Portugal to Treat Migrants as Residents During Pandemic

The Independent reports that Portugal has changed laws to give migrants and asylum seekers the same rights as permanent residents during the pandemic. In particular, affected individuals will have access to the country’s healthcare system and welfare system, will be able to establish bank accounts, and can enter into work and rental contracts.
