Lamborghini Joins the Fight

Lamborghini is producing PPE

Over the last several weeks leaders in industries around the world have modified their design and production strategies to manufacture items that are essential for saving lives during the pandemic. UK firm Dyson designed a new ventilator in 10 days with the intent of producing 15,000 of them. Major League Baseball jersey provider Fanatics is focusing on manufacturing medical masks and gowns. Luxury goods conglomerate LVMH is producing hand sanitizer in its perfume and cosmetics factories for free distribution in France. The list goes on.

Yesterday, luxury Italian car brand Lamborghini announced that it will join those ranks by producing 1,000 medical masks and 200 protective medical shields per day plant in Sant’Agata Bolognese in northern Italy.

“During an emergency such as this one, we feel the need to make a concrete contribution. We have therefore decided to support the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital, an institution with which we have had a collaborative relationship for years, through both professional consultancy in promoting programs to protect our workers’ health, and in research projects. We will win this battle together by working in union, supporting those who are at the forefront of fighting this pandemic every day.”

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini
