Where Artists Can Turn for Help During the Crisis

COVID-19 ARTS RESOURCES
Few have been spared by the economic crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Musicians, photographers, dancers, painters, and millions of other artists around the world have, at least temporarily, lost the opportunity to share their creative work and earn income from it.

However, all is not lost. Far from it. There are a plethora of grantmaking organizations and emergency relief funds around the world that are helping artists in crisis. Creative Capital, a cultural philanthropy that provides funding for artists, has compiled a list of arts resources during the COVID-19 outbreak. The organization is updating and augmenting the list regularly.

Those who have a resource to add to the list can fill out this form.

“Creative Capital has always been anchored by a rich spirit of community and mutual generosity, and we believe that continuing communication and exchange are crucial for all of us. As COVID-19 continues to spread across the United States, we have created a list of resources for artists working in all disciplines, as well as arts philanthropists, and arts professionals.”

Artists around the world have been employing innovative strategies to engage with their audiences and generate revenue during the pandemic lockdowns. In particular, many are performing on platforms such as Facebook Live, Instagram TV, or Twitch. The artists can then request donations via Venmo and Paypal.
