Actor John Krasinski recently launched an at-home YouTube series called SomeGoodNews. The 15-minute episodes highlight positive, funny, and uplifting stories from around the world in the hopes of providing much-needed joy and levity to audiences around the world. Yesterday’s episode featured Audrey, a 9-year-old superfan of the Broadway megahit Hamilton. The girl was supposed to see a performance of the show in Jacksonville, FL, but it was canceled due to the pandemic. Krasinski arranged for a video interview with Aubrey on his show, then shocked her with an epic surprise. Lin-Manuel Miranda and the rest of the original cast of the musical joined the Zoom conference and performed a live rendition of the hit song “Alexander Hamilton.”

Trust us, it is worth watching. Navigate to the 8:25 mark of the YouTube video below to witness the beautiful moment.

Krasinski gained a massive following during his 9-season stint as the character Jim Halpert on the NBC sitcom The Office. Since then he has appeared in numerous productions including Jack Ryan, an Amazon series based on the works of Tom Clancy. In 2018, Krasinski garnered significant acclaim for his work as writer, director, and lead actor of the sci-fi hit A Quiet Place. That film raked in over $300 million at the box office.

Previously Krasinski and movie star wife Emily Blunt (of Mary Poppins Returns fame) have supported humanitarian Malala Yousafzai’s “Malala Fund,” which invests in education programs for disadvantaged girls around the world.
